I graduated from Saint Joseph High School in 2008 and joined the United States Air Force. I received my EMT certification and worked as a medic during that time. My military medic experience was extraordinary and unique with regard to the opportunities available for medical training. My training included mass casualty exercises, safety measures in natural disaster response, and decontamination procedures and protocol. I worked alongside physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and nurses from various professional backgrounds. I gained experience and knowledge working in women’s health, family medicine, deployed locations, flight medicine, and pediatrics. During this time, I found a passion for nursing and caring for the pediatric population.

After my military career, I moved to Little Rock, AR, with my husband. I graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2019 with my BSN. I started my nursing career at UAMS in the Progressive/Trauma Unit. I have cared for higher acuity adult patients requiring orthopedic surgery, invasive and non-invasive respiratory support, continuous cardiac monitoring, and much more. While working at UAMS, I was humbly recognized and received a DAISY award. I am certified in Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Trauma Nursing Core Courses.

I received a doctorate in nursing practice for UAMS in May 2023, specializing in Pediatric Primary Care. In my spare time, I enjoy reading books, traveling, running, hiking, attending sporting events, and spending time with my family.
